The Cool BatMan project was selected for the M-ERA.NET “Success Story” recognition as a successfully implemented project. The project developed and tested a new concept for battery temperature management by combining magnetocaloric cooling and digital microfluidics. Its goal was to improve thermal stability and battery management systems, which are crucial for the safety and efficiency of modern lithium-ion batteries, particularly in electric mobility.

The consortium succeeded in integrating two physical phenomena into a cooling structure, which may in the future serve as an innovative alternative to existing technologies. The project is considered a success in terms of technological innovation and its potential for practical application.
