The Planetary Mill Pulverisette 5/4, manufactured by the German company Fritsch GmbH, is a part of equipment indispensable in the ceramic synthesis process. The mill is designed for both grinding of powder particles, i.e., reducing the particle size (below 1 μm), and mixing powders of different chemical compositions (for example, in the process of homogenizing powder mixtures).
With proper balancing, the mill allows grinding with four bowls simultaneously (bowl volume up to 225 ml). The high rotational speed of the supporting disc (400 revolutions per minute) provides conditions for using the mill in high-energy milling processes or mechanochemical synthesis, which makes it possible to synthesize ceramic powders directly during milling, without the need for heating the powder mixtures.
The mill’s operation can be programmed with time delays and different milling conditions. The actual rotational speed is digitally recorded. The mill is securely designed and ensures safe grinding with automatic speed regulation in case of overload.
