On May 15, 2026, Lia Šibav successfully defended her doctoral dissertation at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School entitled: Synthesis, crystal growth, and magnetic properties of two-dimensional spin systems. She received the grade Cum laude for her doctoral dissertation.

The supervisor of the doctoral dissertation was Assist. Prof. Dr. Mirela Dragomir.
